Beauty and the Russian Beast
Sola Ivan Rustanov is a total jackhole. He has no conscience, and he’s no holds barred dangerous--the kind of guy you just know has a body count in his back story. And now he's forcing me to stay in his remote mountain home as his prisoner until Spring. He wants me in his bed, but that will NEVER happen. I hate him. Or at least I should. Shouldn't I?
IvanA few years ago, having a curvy prisoner in my home wouldn't have been a problem. A few years ago I wasn't broken, damaged beyond all repair.
I thought I was dead inside... until she came along and awakened me in ways I never thought were possible for a brute like me.
But what will become of us when her past and mine collide? Can a monster like me ever become the man she deserves?
This is Book 4 in the Ruthless Russians series. Meet all the Ruthless Russians

Beauty and the Beast had nothing on this couple. Theodora Taylor has offered us another enjoyable read. I hated Ivan from the first introduction in the previous book, “Her Russian Beast-New Mexico.” He was such an unkempt, rude, ass. As I read his story he attached himself to me and I’ve forgiven him. Sola and Ivan are a couple with their own individual issues, however when they come together, they are able to recognize their need of each other and balance each other. The book does start of slow, but the buildup is so worth it. I just love the way Theodora weaves her past characters into her stories, and now the element of paranormal is introduced. Ivan was indeed brutal, due to his past; however he stepped up, and allowed himself to finally admit his love for Sola. This was redeeming to me. Good read and I recommend this story. And let me add, there are some awesome one-liners in this book…LOL. My only complaint is I have to anxiously wait for the next story in the series.Product details

Her Russian Brute 50 Loving States Idaho Ruthless Russians Book 4 edition by Theodora Taylor Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
For me, this was another tour-de-force effort by Theodora Taylor! Great plots and endearing characters are Taylor hallmarks. This time around, it didn't seem as easy as earlier books. The plot really worked but Ivan's character development was probably more difficult for the author to create--he was much harder for the reader to 'love', but he did grow on me eventually. Marisol was a treat--attitude with a capital A and a strong sense of her own identity, but right for Ivan. (Otherwise he would have walked all over her.)
Ivan was preoccupied with his looks and how the world perceived him was an issue right up to the final chapter, allowing him to overlook his real faults. The loss of his family was a tragedy, but served as the point where he actually began to mature emotionally. (Although how he responds to their deaths is understandable, but probably not how most of us would have!) This is more evidence of her skill at providing insight into a character's personality and a great means of providing truth without boringly spelling everything out. This was a quick read but ultimately as satisfying as Taylor's other works. Finally, the mysterious character who bought the Idaho property was intriguing--enough for his own book? I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I did like the story. The price was an honest one and I appreciated that we weren't cheated on that level. It was my conscience that wouldn't allow me to give 4 or 5 stars. I have loved the Russian series about the Rustanov men. They are to die for! They were beyond "strong" and they were humbled by their love for their women while maintaining the strength we all love to see. But, back to the story ...
For me, the story was too short. I would have loved to have seen a bit more depth to the characters, especially Ivan and Sola. The author gave background, but I felt more was needed, just like we were given with Alexei and Eva. Maybe this is why the author is saying this is probably the last Rustanov installment. I am happy that she didn't shut the door on that completely. Maybe the author is running out of juice writing those Russians. However, no one writes better about them than her! Let's hope she'll find a story or two more.
What kind of town was that? Wow! I'm not that into books about 'shifters', but this story is intriguing. I'll definitely be looking forward to reading this one! The full moon night we got a taste of took me back to the movie, "An American Werewolf In London", complete with the tavern. I could almost hear the Twilight Zone theme music playing!
So, I say to Ms. Taylor, "Stay true to writing what you write best! In me, you've got a fan for life!"
There were too many typos, too. It felt like the author was rushed in telling her story. That's never a good sign! But, I put on my editor's cap on kept on reading. Overall the story didn't disappoint, but knowing how much better this author can write, I was hoping for better than I got.
I received this a ARC for my honest review. This is the final book in the Russian Series. Ivan ( the cousin of Alexi and Boris) and Marisol ( Sola') story reminder me of adult version of Beauty and the Beast.. Ivan with half of his face is scarred falls for Sola the first time he sees her, while she is rescuing her friend Brian who is kept in Ivan's jail cell. She agrees to take Brian's place and stay until till the Spring. I am so glad that their story did not take the standard drama drawn out path that all romance stories tend to take. They are two damaged people who came together and saw past each others faults. I am glad that Sola's best friend is in the next book His Forbidden Bride. My favorite line in the book is when Sola tells Ivan" I don't care about your face, I am not sleeping with you because you are ugly on the inside". I think this is when Ivan started to heal. I enjoyed reading this book, I finished it in one sitting.
Totally not what I expected. Ivan was pretty awful in Bair and Serena's story, but I kinda loved him in this one. He knew he was wrong for what he did to Sola, but once he realized the effects of what he had done, he set about to make things right.
The whole wolf angle was interesting. I thought it was very strange that Ivan and Sola weren't more curious about the attempted wolf attack, because I certainly had questions. Can't wait to see what that story is.
I enjoyed this story. Just wish it had been longer.
p.s. The previous 3 books in this series were included with this book, which means I get to read Her Russian Protector. Yay!!!
p.p.s. Had to change my rating after finishing Her Russian Protector. This was my absolute favorite of all the books! Loved me some Nikolai. And Pavel. And Back Up. And as much as I really liked Sirena/Thel, Sam is my new favorite. I'm gonna miss these crazy Rustanovs!
